Rail-Trail/C&O Canal
A ten mile long section of the rails to trails hiking-biking path runs directly
behind downtown Hancock, adjacent to the newly rewatered C&O Canal and Park, from
Hancock to Big Pool. The rails to trails program will eventually encompass a 315
mile long hiking and biking trail from Washington, D.C. to Pittsburgh, PA. There
is a boat ramp and picnicking area along the river.

Stop by the downtown Visitor Information Center
in the Historic Western Maryland Railway Station at Canal Place,
the western terminus of the C&O Canal.
